“ Taste of Kathmandu in Hythe absolutely owned my birthday. We turned up nine strong, loud, hungry, and slightly chaotic. They looked at us, smiled, and went, “Yeah, we’ve got this.” The food was unreal. Every curry hit with proper flavour, proper spice, no weak dishes hiding in the corner. Plates came out hot, fresh, and generous. It felt like they were feeding family, not customers. Then my younger son, future Ambassador of Beige, ordered nuggets and chips. In a Nepalese curry house. While the rest of us were smashing through curries, he was sitting there with his kids’ menu special like it was a high-end tasting plate. The staff still treated it like a serious order. No side-eye. No attitude. Full respect for the nugget lifestyle. My other son went full hero mode and ordered a big Madras. No fear. First few bites, he was confident. Then the spice hit. Eyes watering, nose going, but he refused to tap out. Absolute chaos on his face, pure pride in his soul. Staff checked he was alive, laughed with us, and kept the drinks flowing. Service stayed on point all night. Friendly, fast, and switched on. Drinks topped up. Plates cleared smoothly. They made the whole birthday feel easy. End of the night, they surprised me with a birthday mug as a present. Not some cheap throwaway thing either. Proper mug. I’m drinking out of it like a loyal cult member now. Strong food. Great people. Zero stress. If you are anywhere near Hythe and you like curry, go to Taste of Kathmandu. If you do not like curry, go anyway and order nuggets and chips. “ We've had a fantastic evening at the restaurant tonight celebrating a birthday. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and even allowed us to bring a birthday cake which they served at the end of our sumptuous meal. A really lovely surprise when they presented the birthday girl with a gift. Food was delicious, highly recommended. ”

“ LOVED this place. We were excited to try it because of the Nepalese heritage in the area and it didnt disappoint. Dinner was fabulous on Sunday night. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. Even gave us a chicken tikka taster for free whilst we waited for the food we'd ordered. My, toned down in chilli heat, Chicken Khursani was absolutely delicious! The Tandoori Prawns were perfectly cooked. Also loved the Kalo Daal, have never had that before. Excellent wine list too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ”

“ Genuinely good, non-greasy, Indian home cooking. You can eat this food daily and not get sick unlike with much more fattened dishes served at most other restaurants. I advise to book in advance as it gets busy. Do order veg momos! ”
